Applying your vinyl:
- On the area that you will be adhering the vinyl, clean and dry surface thoroughly.
- Rub the back side of the vinyl (the side with the printed grid and writing on it) with a credit card (or something flat).
- Peel the backing from the vinyl (if the vinyl doesn’t peel clean from the backing, continue rubbing until it does). When you are finished, you will have your vinyl lettering stuck to the tape and removed completely from the paper backing.
- Place the vinyl (clean of the backing) sticky side down against the surface and make sure that it is centered. If you are placing the vinyl on glass or tile or something extremely smooth, DO NOT place the tape all the way down onto the surface until you are sure that it is centered, because it sticks extremely well and once it’s down, it will not come back up!
(Make sure that you use the lettering as your guide and NOT the tape!)
- Once you have the vinyl where you would like to adhere it, press the tape and vinyl down onto the surface - start from the middle of the vinyl and press it down all the way out to the edges to adhere it to the surface.
- Use credit cart to rub the vinyl and tape onto the surface.
- Peel off the tape, making sure as you go that the vinyl is adhering to the surface. If vinyl is not adhering, place tape back over the section that isn’t adhering and rub until it separates.
One hint: The glossier the surface, the better the vinyl will stick. If you are applying vinyls to a textured wall, it will be harder to stick it to that surface than it will be to stick it to a glossy ceramic tile. When you are applying vinyls to tiles or glass, make sure that the items are at room temperature. Vinyl will not stick to a surface that is cold when you are trying to apply it.
